After weeks of preparation for Field Day, happy to say that it has been accomplished!
There was a lot of fun stuff:
- The usual Field Day contest
  - Points still need to be tabulated
- VE Test session: 8 examinees
- All Raffle prizes are spoken for, still trying to get those to the winners
- Great dinner
- Launched a pico balloon

Really enjoyed the pico balloon launch, and still enjoying tracking it
Very kind and thoughtful of Ray, Roger, and Gary from SFA Radio Club to put this together for us!
- Currently over the Gulf of Mexico

Looks like balloon is caught in a spiral
K5DKB: looks like that’s exactly what’s happening
- Check wind patterns at 41,000 ft altitude… very different weather up there than down here
- High pressure system headed out to the gulf currently has our balloon
KG5LYE: straight lines in path are when the balloon is “asleep”
- Solar-powered, so only transmits while sun is shining
- Weather up there is not affected by friction with the surface
- Patterns only affected by convection, coriolis effect, and jet streams
- Currently a nice-and-cool 5°C

Stuff collected over 65 years:
- 576 curve tracer
- HP RF signal generator
- Bunch of parts
Moving into retirement community; can’t take it with me…

- Was in an accident on Sunday
N5ZKF: Met with them Sunday afternoon
- All seemed to be in good shape
- Jonathan discharged this morning, probably in a lot of discomfort
