Announcements / Comments
Question for conversation: What is your longest 2m or 6m QSO? (Satellite / ISS counts, too)
Bill Rose (K5WTR)
- Got 32 cans of cat food accidentally from Walmart
- Longest 2m contact: south of Mexico City back in 2013
Dick Zimmer (W5DZ)
- Worked Tampa, FL on 2m simplex with a beam antenna
- Ducting goes along the coast, so takes an indirect route
Don Ling (WB5CKO)
- Longest contact I can remember now is Mexico City or Monterrey, whichever is farther
- On 6m:
- 2-way, confirmed contacts in Hawaii and other Pacific Islands
- Heard, but never confirmed Japan
John Walpole (K5ZY)
- On with K5WTR’s QSO with Mexico: 146.490 MHz
- Longest 20m SSTV was over 10,655 mi
Matthew Barry (KG5LYE)
- ARES net at conclusion of this net or at 20:30, whichever is later.
Lee Lance (KK5QO)
- Question: Internet acting really slow or not at all (Suddenlink). Anyone else experiencing this?
- KG5SDF: regular thing over here
- KG5LYE/KG5UZA: consistently less than half the speed we’re paying for
- K5WTR: appears to be working for me (North of Coulter Field)
Travis Scott (KI5TMS)
