- ARRL Field Day will be 2025-06-28/29 this year
- Will be at the ‘usual’ place again this year: American Legion Post 159
- looking for volunteers
- Lorna Flansburg (KI5FIZ) has done a great job in past years, and she wants someone else to take over
- We’ll have sign-up sheets at the next meeting
- Some help in the same way each year, and we’re thankful for you!
- Radio in the Park after the meeting today

Treasurer

- 72 members currently
- Letter from American Red Cross thanking us for $100 donation
- Using their facility for Winter Field Day
- Sale of equipment at the back
American Legion Auxiliary Girls State
- “Job as treasurer is not only to collect money, but think of ways to spend it.”
- We currently sponsor Kolaches for Veteran’s Coffee event on 5th Thursdays
- The American Legion Auxiliary sponsors Girls State
- Held at Texas Lutheran University in Seguin
- They are Seeking donations to sponsor girls to attend
- By comparison, the complementary program, American Legion Boys State, is well-supported
- Part of our 501(c)(3) is to support education, especially in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics
- Would the club like to sponsor a young women interested in these fields?
- Phil Gates (N5ZKF) had his daughter participate:
- She had a great time and gained a lot from it
- Very positive civic and outreach effort
- David Bailey (K5DKB)
- Taught in public school system, and noticed that fewer and fewer men are stepping up to take leadership roles
- More women are stepping up to fill leadership positions, and we should support them in any way we can

To sponsor a young lady for $475 for Girls State

- Visitor Dawn James, who was at SKYWARN training on Thursday
- Monthly ARES Meeting this coming Monday, 2025-04-21 18:30
- Will be working on communications trailer
- CEOC visits will resume next Friday, 2025-04-25 09:30
Trailer Tires

- Waiting for ARES tax-exempt status to take effect to buy tires
- Club trailer (“Old Fart’s Trailer”) also need tires

To purchase 4 tires for the ARES antenna trailer with the understanding that half the cost will be reimbursed by ARES

- Both were really enjoyable!
- First one without Dan Riley
- The two people who filled in, Tim and Haley, did great!
- Good turnout!

- Embroidery company that does branding for ham radio organizations
- Club could pay $45 to have club logo made available for members to purchase merhandise from HamThreads
- We’re told that our current artwork should be suitable…
- However, this has been problematic for local embroidery organizations
- Tom Johnson (KI5ZPG) has offered to pay the $45. Other members have offered to purchase sample products
