ARES Update

- CEOC visit each Friday 09:30
- Keeping good relationships with cities, university, and county personnel
- Vet School Response Team
- FEMA changed rules for evacuation: pets are now part of evacuation
- Activated by TDEM, and will help look after evacuated pets
- Also do equine and large animal
- As ARES / ham radio folks, we helped them set up and learn to use their communications equipment (handheld and mobile)
- Invited to Winter Field Day
- One of vet techs there went to school with Samuel Morse’s great-great-grandson
RACES Update

2024 Officer Nominations

- We’re supposed to present candidates in November so everyone knows who will be on the ballot
- 4 positions: President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer
- Duties described in Constitution and By-Laws
- Occasional extra meetings (committee/planning, officer meeting, club meeting)
- Takes some time, but not overwhelming
