Radio Capabilities and Limitations

Question: I have a radio that works on both the ham bands and CB band. Can I legally operate on CB frequencies?

• If it’s type-certified for operation on that band, then it can be used there
• limitations on power and mode operations: 4 W, AM only
• don’t use ham callsign
• similar case: can’t use Baofeng to transmit on GMRS frequencies, even though the radio will allow you to do so.

Health and Welfare / Good of the Order

• Dick Zimmer (W5DZ) is in the hospital in Bryan and sends his regards
