- Will get with Richard Epting, who works with TAMU engineering to find someone
- Clark Pennington (KC5BHM): can talk with TX Task Force 1
- Phil Gates (N5ZKF): prioritize things that we can finish before Winter Field Day
- in total, all modifications will probably take about a year, but won’t tackle all at once

- Have minutes from June, July, August
- Prior meetings have not had quorum
- Learned that according to Robert’s Rules, we don’t have to hold a vote to approve
- unless there are any corrections or additions, the minutes will “approved as sent out by unanimous consent”
- Minutes from this meeting will be sent out later today

New Antenna
- Ordered Alpha Delta 80/40 dipole as previously approved by the club
- On the way and will be here in the next few days
Other Business
Donation to the American Legion
- We’ve been meeting here at no cost and will be using the facilities for Winter Field Day (also at no cost)
- Any thoughts for possible donation
- Don Hutchcraft (KE5ADX): American Legion gives $9000 college scholarships to Bryan and CS ISD
- currently don’t do any private schools in the area
- earmark club donation for scholarship to private schools
- Harold Turbyfill (KG5SDG): treat it as reimbursement for operational expenses, maybe ongoing
- Clark Pennington (KC5BHM): suggest budgeting $500/yr for donation amount
- Lorna Flansburg (KI5FIZ): only income is from membership dues and Field Day
- one-time donation (and maybe revisiting next year) would be better
- Vic Pears (KX8V): don’t earmark donation; let Legion decide what to do; maybe $200
- Bill Preston (KZ3G): might increase dues to get more income
- Motion by Vic Pears (KX8V): to donate $200 this year to the American Legion
- Seconded by Don Hutchcraft (KE5ADX)
- Discussion
- Don Hutchcraft (KE5ADX): going rate is $500 to rent for the first couple hours, then $50 per hour after; board voted to waive the fee for our club
- Henry Menefee (W5RAS): American Legion is happy to accept any donations we’re willing to give
- Ernie Laney (K5ENL): Don’t want donation to cause any complications… would this create any issues?
- Motion carries unanimously
Radio in the Park
- Fall will be here soon
- 2022-10-15 is TAMU bye-week
- coincides with club meeting and with JOTA
- could also do a week with an away game
- no issues with 2022-10-15
Winter Field Day
- Save the Date: 2023-01-28/29
- Permission from American Legion to use facility overnight for Winter Field Day
- Would like to hold workshops throughout the day
- Chili contest/tasting
- open to the public?
- Official Winter Field Day rules have not been published yet
