RF Exposure Rule Change

• New RF exposure rules become effective 2021-05-03
  • Limits are unchanged, but…
  • Amateur service no longer has any exemptions
  • Honor system, don’t think there’s anything to submit
    • Good to make some form of documentation
    • Reassess if you make any changes
  • ARRL Handbook Ch. 28 (General Safety) covers info on how to do this
    • Available for download for free from the ARRL website.

World Amateur Radio Day

• Tomorrow, 2021-04-18, is World Amateur Radio Day
  • International group founded in 1921 (100 years ago!)
  • “Home but never alone”

Club Business

• Idea: W5BCS presence at new water tower in College Station?
• Club liability insurance paid
• Plan to file club state franchise tax return and IRS 501(c)(3) “postcard”
  • We don’t receive enough to merit any complicated tax situation, but still have to file
• Club constitution and by-laws should will be made public on the website
• Drafting a privacy statement for the club
• Media release agreement (for publishing photos of events, e.g., Field Day)
• Working on a way to accept membership renewal and payment online through PayPal

Radio in the Park

• Tanglewood park in Bryan
• After the meeting
• Some chance of rain, but looking dry so far
• Concrete table at the southeast corner of the park
