Officers

Apparently we have a gavel now…
Welcome to the new officers:
- Mark Hnatiuk (KG5EYV)
- Phil Gates (N5ZKF)
- Matthew Barry (KG5LYE)
- Sly Kapchinski (N5GQB) — especially for multiple years
Thanks to last year’s officers, especially Paul Bilke (KF5WGJ) for two years as president!
Presented W5AC an “ARRL Collegiate Initiative” cup on behalf of W5BCS

Thanks to Gerald Golub (W5VUI)
- (unable to attend due to government shutdown)
- Thanks for hosting us at the USDA building
- Additional thanks to the VE’s
  - 44 applicants, 40 passed!
Events and Accomplishments
- 2 Radio in the Park
- 2 social dinners
- Field day: 68 people on the sign-in sheet
- club 501(c)(3) status and Texas state tax-exempt
- Texas QSO Party didn’t have much interest

Events
- Radio in the Park (one in the Spring and one in the Fall)
- Social dinners
- Field Day: Bachmann Park already reserved (6 months in advance)
- No plans for Texas QSO Party unless members express interest
Goals
- Send out QSL cards: some requests are up to 5 years old and will be answered
- School Club (or other community involvement)
  - Grant money available from ARRL
  - ISS contact possibility
  - Paul Bilke (KF5WGJ) already trying to get something started with A&M Consolidated

- Meeting starts around 09:00 to 09:30 (after exam finishes)
